The cheek of some buyers!

I was going to let this frustration slide, but this buyer has really started to bug me!

A new buyer (zero ratings or transactions) goes through my listings and places an order through the buy now for a "Personalised Angel Card Reading". She inserts an amount for postage, so I reply to her immediately stating that the reading is sent via email, so there is no need for postage. I also mentioned what information I require from her for the reading.

Tarot - *~*~*~* Personalised Angel Card Reading *~*~*~* for sale in Hunters Retreat (ID:25247197)

She replies back with the info no problem.

A short while later she sends another email giving a list of what all she is looking for (crystals, etc), and that she wants to come look at the items then choose - all offline.

I reply stating that this is not possible due to me being in PE, and she in Jhb, and mentioned that the "code of conduct" is that we do not trade offline. I also directed her to another business in her area which is not a bidorbuy trader where she should be able to find the specialised items she is seeking.

I reminded her that payment was due on her order within seven days from purchase. She replied stating that she thought she was buying a deck of tarot cards and did not want the reading. Later stating that she'd pay for the reading anyway.

Over a week went passed with zero communication from the buyer, with no payment either. So I followed procedure: issued a negative rating for non-payment (stating no reply on communication, etc), and filed the SNC.

Well... did she start jumping up and down! Sending emails to BoB copying me that I am being unhelpful and petty. Being "nasty" and that BoB does not need seller's like me, etc.

The SNC is not complete yet and she has appealed it. Now for the past week she claims that she will pay the meagre amount of R50 and will be warning others about the "pettiness of particular traders". (for the record, no payment has been received)

In your opinion, have I done anything wrong?

No, Cali, the problem lies with your buyer! Sounds like she needs a Devil Card reading as opposed to an Angel Card reading! Oh dear.

You have done nothing wrong and have followed procedure till the end. This is becoming a common problem with newbies, who dont bother to communicate, but get all hot and bothered when issued with a negative rating and when a snc is filed against them.

No Cali, you havent done anything wrong. You did what every seller would do, you even went as far as advising the buyer about where to buy other stuff she needed. Its definately not your fault some buyers think Bidorbuy sellers are just some internet robots that they can insult and push around as they wish.

Strange people out there, she certainly did not read your listing correctly, and as I understand it you have made it clear that you are selling a service, which is all above board.

Nothing wrong on your part, unfortunate though it had to go through the SNC and Neg rating process.

You said it. Some buyers just do not read the listings! Then you also get newbies, who register as buyers late at night, place and order on a buy now item, and promptly phone the seller, at 11 at night, and ask "when payment has been done, how soon can the items be posted"? this happened to me a little while ago, I kid you not!
