My apologies guys. A perfect example of a typo that subconsciously expressed my frustrations experienced in this hobby.

Its been a while but, if I am correct, moer (in Afrikaans) is "murder" in English...

Ek sal moer jy... I was told this so many times at school!

Language is so much fun but can be so dangerous....

Kind regards

Hi Scott

From having lots of Afrikaans friends, they say it means to beat someone up, not quite as bad a murder

I am an Afrikaans speaking South African and as such can confirm that the word "moer" has many meanings. In the context previously posted it would mean, Getting a beating

For those needing a quick language tutorial on the word here is s few others:

Moer - Coffee Sediment "found in the bottom of your cup if you had some home brew coffee

Moer - A nut, part that screws on a Bolt

Moer - Seed Patato

Moer - Used as a swearing word, derogatory and with reference to someone's mother

The Afrikaans language is the most fun language in the world

Referring to someone as a "moer" i.e. a riff-raf or scum.

and I hope that I do not get banned from the forum for this posting and defending my language....lol..

Ag Pleez Deddy

Aahh Verts

Although I might have got my "moer" wrong I can help you with those other words.. ;-)

milkshake.. milk well shaken so it froths, and enhanced by a flavour.. like strawberry

sewing machine.. not a good place to drop your milkshake or your mother might moer you.. ;-) (Jan I am sure you will agree)

Still play that old Jeremy Taylor classic song "Ag Pleez Deddy.."

"have to go and moere all the okies next door"...

Kind regards

Lmao @ Scott

Back to topic ,

I know of many Saand members, as well as dealers of the mint that are selling on BOB.

Seems like we getting the short end of the stick , whilst they are stuck between cotton wool and a soft place.

warm regards

Verts

Sorry Vertigo, but I have to disagree with you there.

The dealers are businesses too, and suffered just as much as any other industry during the global economic meltdown and subsequent recessions.

Many are barely surviving, and some have already disappeared.

It is very difficult to be a dealer right now and the S.A.Mint's failure to deliver stock on time has made it almost impossible to continue business.

It has been more than a week since the World Cup ended and the majority of FIFA stock is still outstanding.

So, I urge the public not to think that dealers are insanely rich people that work an hour a day and the money just rolls in.

Its hell out there.
