Insuring Coins sent by the Post Office. The End?

I was handed a document by my post office this morning entiteld "DISCLOSURES REQUIRED IN TERMS OF THE FINANCIAL ADVISORY AND INTERMEDIARY SERVICES ACT 37 OF 2002"

 

The document is an abbreviated version of the insurance policy for the loss or damage of insured letters/parcels while using one or all of the Post Office insurance services.

 

Under the EXCLUSIONS section, paragrapgh 7 (a) clearly states that the insurer will not be liable for the loss or damage to ...

 

Cash, bank and currency notes, coins, bonds, coupons, stamps ...etc.

 

This very cleay states that one CANNOT insure coins send by the SA Post Office.

 

(For some strange reason, other numismatic items like medals, medallions, tokens etc are not mentioned)

 

Are this then the end of sending coins and notes by insured post via the SA Post Office? Are registered post then the best we can do for our customers from now on?

Was told yesterday they cant insure Econo parcels anymore either. So they steal them youre problem.

 

To many claims rcieved. So to make claims go away you cant insure.
